Overview | Cacamide is a series of azobenzylamide compounds of non-polar long-chain fatty acids. Now it has been found to have a variety of biological activities, such as: Improve sexual function and fertility, the protective effect of nerve cells, the neuromodulation effect (labor pains, antidepressant, anti-anxiety), and the effect of improving osteoporosis. Existing studies have shown that a variety of alkaloids of Maca act on the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, which can regulate the endocrine system and balance hormones. The application of Macaamide in the treatment of irregular menstruation has not been reported. Macaramide impurity 2 is an impurity produced during the synthesis of macaramide. |
biological activity | N-Benzyloleamide is a maccamide isolated from Lepidium meyenii (Maca). N-Benzyloleamide irreversibly inhibits fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH). N-Benzyloleamide affects energy metabolism and shows antioxidant and anti-fatigue activities. |
